Imposter Syndrome Coaching & Performance Confidence Coaching

Maybe you brush off good feedback because it doesn’t feel earned. Or you can explain your idea in practice, then hold back when people are listening. Those are two ways self-doubt can get in the way of something you want to do.

This coaching focuses on overcoming imposter syndrome and building performance confidence so you can show up at your best when it matters.

Two connected coaching paths

The two specialties give us a way to talk about what’s happening: how you judge your ability, and what changes when you use it under pressure. If both sound familiar, we can discuss them together.

Imposter Syndrome Coaching

If praise sends you looking for reasons your work wasn’t really that good, or a new task makes you question whether you belong, Imposter Syndrome Coaching gives those moments attention.

This coaching focuses on how you judge your competence and accomplishments, so you can give yourself fair credit and a chance to pursue what matters.

Performance Confidence Coaching

If you know your point in practice but rush, go blank, or stay quiet when people are watching, Performance Confidence Coaching focuses on what happens under that pressure.

This coaching focuses on using your ability under pressure, so you can participate and follow through without needing to feel perfectly confident first.

Both specialties can be part of the same coaching. You don’t need to choose a category before we talk.

What coaching gives you room to work on

You may already know that you overthink or second-guess yourself. Understanding that pattern does not always make it easier to handle the next conversation, opportunity, or decision.

Coaching offers time to work with the situations happening in your life. You can bring the concern you keep turning over, explore what you want to do differently, and receive support as you put changes into practice.

The work is grounded in what matters to you. That could mean speaking about your abilities more openly, asking a question, sharing something you have made, or staying with a commitment when doubt returns.

Jen Norton

What it’s like to work with Jen

I help people overcome imposter syndrome and build performance confidence so they can show up at their best when it matters.

I listen without interrupting, ask curious questions, and help clarify or reframe what you’re saying.

If I have advice or an opinion, I ask whether you want it before offering it.

You do not need to arrive with a polished explanation or a decision already made. You keep the final say about your own life.

Start with a conversation.

Tell me what you want to do differently and what has been getting in the way. We’ll talk about how coaching works, answer your questions, and explore whether working together makes sense.

The Next Move Call is a free conversation about fit. Paid coaching is a separate choice.

A few questions before you start

What happens on a Next Move Call?
We’ll talk about what prompted you to reach out, what you want to change, and how coaching works. You can ask questions and decide whether working together feels like a useful fit. The call is a free conversation about fit, not a paid coaching session or a commitment to begin.
Who is this coaching for?
If you question your ability, struggle to give yourself credit, or hold back when pressure, visibility, or evaluation increases, we can talk about what would help. You don't need to choose a specialty before we talk.
What if both types of coaching describe me?
That’s fine. We can work with how you judge your ability and what happens when you need to use it under pressure. You don’t have to separate those experiences neatly.
Will coaching make me stop feeling nervous or doubtful?
I don’t promise the permanent absence of nerves or doubt. We’ll work toward changes in how you understand yourself, prepare, make choices, and act when those feelings appear.
Is this therapy?
I offer coaching focused on goals, choices, and practical action. I don’t diagnose or treat mental-health conditions, and coaching does not replace qualified clinical care. We’ll be honest about whether the support you need is within my scope.
How will we know whether it’s helping?
We’ll agree on what you want to do differently and review your experience. That might include contributing more often, reducing repeated checking, completing something you’ve delayed, or approaching an important conversation differently. Progress should connect to your life, not just how encouraged you feel during a session.
